Owner/Therapist

Welcome! I would like to start working with you as you start this process. I am sure that you would like to hear more about me...

I graduated from Indiana University Bloomington in 2011 with my Master's in Counseling. I moved to Chicago where I practiced for 9 years. I worked in community mental health and private practice. I moved to Indianapolis in 2020 and decided to start my own practice here. I have experience working with anxiety, depression, life transitions, and relationship issues. My speciality is working with women who are navigating attempting to get pregnant, pregnancy, and postpartum. I have specialized training in perinatal mental health.

My journey in this field is driven by a deep understanding of the unique emotional and psychological challenges that accompany these experiences.

Infertility can be an incredibly isolating and distressing experience, and it often brings up a range of emotions from grief and frustration to anxiety and despair. I work with individuals and couples to navigate these complex feelings, helping them to find coping strategies, strengthen their resilience, and explore their options in a supportive environment.

Similarly, perinatal mood disorders, including postpartum depression and anxiety, can significantly impact a new parent’s well-being and their ability to bond with their baby. My approach is rooted in compassion and evidence-based practices, offering a safe space to address these challenges, understand the underlying issues, and work towards recovery.

Together, we’ll explore your unique experiences and develop personalized strategies to support your mental health. My goal is to provide empathetic guidance and practical tools that empower you to manage stress, enhance emotional well-being, and find hope during these transformative periods of your life.

I also enjoy working with people who are dating and/or having trouble in relationships.

I believe in the importance of collaboration and look forward to work closely with those that I am meeting. I also think it is very important for you to understand your strengths and work with them instead of against them. I think we often underestimate our own abilities. I come from a place of understanding and empathy in appointments, but I also enjoy challenging you.  Lastly, I like to incorporate skills building, such as mindfulness, to support change, so you may be doing some activities outside of our appointments. I like to discover what you need in the therapeutic relationship and work to give that to you during each session.

Therapist

I am excited to tell you about myself! If you are a teen or an adult, I would like to be a part of your journey towards making changes and understanding yourself better. I have a passion for working with individuals who are experiencing symptoms related to anxiety, depression, trauma, perinatal mood disorders, substance abuse, and grief/loss.

As a therapist, I am dedicated to supporting individuals and couples through the full spectrum of the reproductive journey—from the challenges of trying to conceive to the complexities of postpartum adjustment.

Navigating the path to parenthood can be filled with emotional highs and lows. Whether you’re facing the stress of infertility, the uncertainty of treatments, or the emotional adjustments required during pregnancy and the postpartum period, I’m here to offer compassionate support and evidence-based strategies tailored to your unique experiences.

I received my Bachelor of Social Work degree from Indiana University in 2012 and my Master of Social Work degree from Indiana University in 2016. I have had a range of different experiences before entering private practice. I worked in a school system, in a hospital-setting, in community mental health, and with the Department of Child Services. These different experiences have helped me understand individuals from all different perspectives and helped me learn it is important to treat each person in therapy as unique.
My approach is warm, inviting, and insightful. I use a variety of integrative and holistic approaches with all clients. I like to meet clients where they are and provide a safe space to explore struggles, discover strengths, and guide in self-discovery and personal growth. I believe that clarity and ease can come from connecting the mind, body and spirit. I utilize various mindfulness techniques to help clients gain insight in the mind-body connection, regulate emotions, manage challenges, and better understand themselves.
I also draw from a variation of techniques including: Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, the Biopsychosocial Model, and the Strengths-Based approach.
